I need appearance mod creators for games like Skyrim and Fallout to lessen the need to prettify characters, especially female warrior ones. Some of these women are hardened warriors who have dirt and blood on their face, why do they have makeup on. For characters like Maven Black-Briar it's fine but for characters like Aela it's just offputting

Should I take my mods off of Nexus Mods before or after shit inevitably hits the fan?

I have a LOT of creations on Nexus Mods, for both the Dragon Age franchise and Baldur's Gate 3. But finding out about the site being bought by some AI bro, well... I'm scared. I do not want my hard work used to train an earth-killing, slop-generating robot.

I do have a patreon already for Baldur's Gate 3 mods. I could potentially move all of my creations there?

Nexus Mods does pay me about $70 USD a month, which might not seem like a lot to some people but when you're low income, every little bit matters. So, I would lose that, unless I gain a bunch of patreon supporters in turn.

I don't know what to do. Do I make the hard change now, even if there is an off but still slight chance nothing bad comes of this? Or do I wait until something bad does happen?

all creators here know Tumblr's likes to reblogs ratio sucks and is discouraging but god DAMN NexusMod downloads to endorsements ratio is soooo bad too 😐

ANYWAY is your reminder that if you like a creative work, be it art /writing / gifs / mods / whatver REBLOG TO SUPPORT IT

and ENDORSE mods you like on Nexus damn, it takes 3 seconds and shows the creator you like their work

thank u for posting that information post about the change of nexus ownership. very concerning stuff, but i'm glad you brought it all to light so that modders and mod-users can be aware of it.

As a modder and user of Nexusmods myself, and having lots of mutuals and friends who are also modders, this felt important to share here with all the infos I could find at the time (tried to keep it updated too)

THO I had to mute the post cause it def left my bubble 💀 already seen some peeps accuse me of "fear mongering for notes" despite... just sharing the damn info as it is, deadass don't wanna deal with tumblr users bullshit

I do personally think that a Crypto & AI Techbros company focused on Monetization buying out a mod archives website is AT LEAST a bit concerning, especially in our day and age where every companies sucks out every crumbs out of creatives, right into model learnings machines just to mass-produce AI slop perfect for mindless consumption 👍

So y'know - as mod users, I'd recommend downloading your favorite mods and backing them up. Same goes for mod creators, as we might need to find another platform soon depending on how this whole situation evolve 🤠

My first BG3 mod is out on Nexus!

All top/chin/jaw segments have been refitted. Jewelry has a 90% chance of floating. This was a custom head I made for my Dark Urge OC to learn the basics! The skeleton has also been tweaked so you shouldn't get (too many) animation glitches with the face - though I've only tested through the end of the prologue so far. Currently a loose file replacer for femme head "E".

Future Plans:

jewelry refits/expanded jewelry options (maybe)

a .pak/standalone version

skeleton tweaks if necessary

more dragonborn presets
